Most people believe you need a gym membership to build muscle. Rows of machines, endless barbells, and racks on racks of dumbbells. But the truth is, you don’t.
Building muscle comes down to one thing: progressive overload.
What is Progressive Overload?
Progressive overload simply means gradually challenging your muscles with more work over time. That can be heavier weights, more reps, or more sets. Your body adapts to the stress you put on it, and that’s how muscle is built.
You don’t need an expensive commercial gym membership for that. You just need a plan, consistency, and the right equipment.
A Simple Example
Here’s what progressive overload looks like in practice:
- Week 1: 10kg dumbbells for 6–8 reps
- Week 2: 10kg dumbbells for 10–12 reps
- Week 3: 12.5kg dumbbells for 8–10 reps
The Equipment That Makes It Simple
If you want to build muscle at home, you don’t need a garage full of kit. You just need weights you can progress with and a bench that gives you options.
That’s exactly why we designed the Solo Adjustable Storage Bench.
It comes with 103kg of built-in weights:
- Four pairs of dumbbells (from 4kg to 15kg)
- Two kettlebells (up to 16kg)
And with its three-position backrest (flat, incline, upright), you can hit every muscle group without cluttering your space.
