Inside Ed Westwick’s Home Gym

“At the end of the day, you’re in a race with yourself, no one else. You’re Solo.” - Ed Westwick

Actor and now the owner of one of the most beautiful home gyms we’ve ever kitted out, Ed Westwick approached Solo Fitness with a clear vision. Here’s how we made it happen.

The Challenge

Ed had the space, a beautiful outhouse on his property, but needed it transformed into a fully functional, design-led home gym that felt luxurious. As an actor with an unpredictable schedule, convenience was just as important as aesthetics.

The Process

The Solo Fitness team worked with Ed to design the full layout from scratch. We created a detailed 2D floor plan of the space, mapping out every piece of equipment to scale, from the Solo Half Squat Rack, to the Signature Storage, Performance Bench, Treadmill, Assault Bike and Wall Barbell Hanger. Once the plan was signed off, our team handled the full installation, building everything in place in a single day.

The Result In Ed’s Own Words

What made you want to build a dedicated gym space at home?

“I wanted a sanctuary. A place where I could connect with my body in peace. Also with my busy schedule, having it at home makes a world of difference.”

As an actor with a busy schedule, how has having a home gym changed the way you approach your fitness?

“There are no obstacles. Before, I would mentally have to weigh up the drive to the gym, the rest of the day, and before you know it, just to get a 40-minute workout realistically takes up 1.5–2 hours of my day. When you’re super busy, that’s not great. Now everything is simpler and easier to fit in.”

How would you describe the design and quality of the Solo Fitness equipment?

“It feels elevated but functional. And I just love the name. At the end of the day, you’re in a race with yourself, no one else. You’re Solo.”

What’s your favourite piece of Solo kit?

“What’s great is they know people want options, they have other brands as well. They don’t gatekeep. They want you to get everything you want and need. I love the colours available on everything. You get to feel your equipment is personalised. The rack is beautiful, the punch bag is chic!”

The gym looks incredible, how important was it for the space to feel as beautiful as it is functional?

“It’s as much about how a space makes you feel mentally as it is about what you can do in there. The equipment reflects my desire to have a space that feels calm, where me and my wife can get a great workout in.”
